Smokers in France in trouble
Hello there! I'm Matt Chadwick at the business desk and today I'd like to shine the spotlight on those thousands of smokers in France.
France has always been characterized as a country that sports many smokers and the French law has not really gone after creating a smoke free environment. However, that's about to change and we may be seeing many disgruntled French men and women very soon. Those of us who have been lucky to have visited France would know how much Parisians love to smoke filling the cafes, restaurants, stores, and everything else with their plumes of smoke. French men and women really enjoy their smokes and it could be seen, smelled, and tasted practically everywhere.
If the French government has its way, a smoke free environment will be in place in just a few years but fear not smokers! Your government is thinking of making provisions for you in some way or other. They are talking about crating rooms just for you with doors that will hold both you and your smoke real tight so that you won't be able to pollute the aire.
It would be interesting to see how this affects the French economy. Those thousands of cigarette vendors everywhere, those stores selling cigarettes, and all of the other outlets. How would it affect the younger smoking generation in France? What will they turn to as a substitution for smoking? The experts are saying that several other countries have been successful at weathering the absence of a smoke filled environment so it should not be too much of a problem for France to do the same.
This may be a good opportunity for some imaginative entrepreneur or small business to put on their thinking caps and come up with a novel idea to replace those cigarettes. Maybe a pet cigar? You think?
