A success story about a retired couple

I'm always happy to tell a good story especially when it's a success story about one of our clients. Meet Gary and Robin a happily married couple with a very successful small business. Gary and Robin came to us a few years ago seeking some advice on potential business opportunities. They were both retired and living in the Florida area and they were keen to do something with their time now that they had so much of it on their hands.
Our team looked at their interests, skills, and financial status and we put together a simple business plan for them. In short we suggested that they get into the home services business whereby they would offer their services to seniors and special needs persons. Gary would be the handy man and Robin would be the handy woman. Gary would offer his services to do maintenance chores for seniors such as basic plumbing, carpentry, and assembly of furniture and appliances. Robin would offer her services to do basic clothes repair, and they would both offer services to do house painting, cleaning, and other related home services.
So off they went and Gary and Robin made up some flyers and started by advertising to seniors homes and complexes. At first business was slow but these two people were not going to give up without a fight. They increased their advertising to include word of mouth advertising and small ads in the weekend newspapers and monthly magazines for seniors. Slowly but surely they built their business and three years after the day they started and Robin and Gary are doing quite well. They are grossing very healthy five figure revenues and they are quite optimistic that by the end of this year they will be overtaking the six figure mark. They have hired another retired couple to help out and they advertise themselves as seniors helping seniors. They have also expanded their services to include driving seniors and special needs persons to medical appointments.
